Nuclear & Biofuels Fuel & Solar Cells / Battery Materials
Since 1957, when Harper produced our first
nuclear fuel sintering furnace for General Electric, Harper has become the world's leading provider of custom-manufactured equipment for reacting and sintering nuclear fuels.
Harper is the preferred choice for economic, maintenance, and safety reasons.
While offering precise control of temperature and atmosphere, a Harper system generally requires less capital to install than other systems, is easier and less costly to maintain, and avoids the possible safety hazards of some systems.
Harper’s pusher design reduces cost of installation, requires less floor space and is virtually maintenance-free. Its simple transport mechanisms are located outside the furnace for easy access, not hidden away in constraining cabinetry.
Its electrically welded shell eliminates the potential for aspiration of air into the furnace.
To simplify control, Harper offers optional automated handling and sequencing capability. Advanced control and monitoring software, and logic control, are built into the system.
Harper also offers reliable systems for nuclear pellets conversion and spent fuel processing. Our technology now extends to newly emerging energy systems. Having pioneered in the nuclear field, we are now active in the development of alternative energy sources such as fuel cell generators and advanced batteries, and will collaborate with customers on other new technologies.
