Light Bulb1Over 150 participants from the Carbon Fiber composites research space from around the world gathered in Buffalo, NY in July at the 2013 Carbon Fiber R&D Workshop, a unique opportunity to network and share insights on the latest development efforts in this growing market. Harper’s goal was to bring together thought leaders from the US and abroad from academia, industry, and the public sector for an exciting program on the future of Carbon Fiber research from the perspective of material development, process technology, and export control considerations. On display was Harper’s complete Carbon Fiber Microline™ research system, the world’s most flexible and highly tailored system, designed to support the unique needs of research and development efforts.

The technical sessions schedule was praised by attendees for both its diversity and depth, including speakers from renowned organizations such as Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Ford Europe, University at Tennessee, India Institute of Technology, Clemson University, Applied NanoStructured Solutions, a Lockheed Martin Company, and many more. Attendees from almost 20 countries gathered in Buffalo and were treated by exceptional company and weather during a dinner excursion to the famous Niagara Falls.

“The quality of technical content and networking interactions exceeded our expectations, as reinforced by many attendees that I spoke with,” commented Diana Robbins, Vice President of Marketing and Sales Administration. “We are just so pleased to be a catalyst in the carbon fiber market, to help if even in a small way move this highly impactful material closer to its full realization as a life-changing technology for all applications to benefit from.”
