Harper International is a leading manufacturer of custom engineered thermal processing systems, and equipment designed to meet exacting processing requirements.  Harper has been engineering and building custom kilns and furnaces for over 80 years.  We have been the innovator of many new technologies including: Carbon Fiber Furnaces,  Pusher Tunnel Kilns for the electronics and advanced ceramics industries, Carbon Fiber Lines, solar cell and silicon melt furnaces, rotary kilns for the processing of refractory metals, and calciners and vertical, gravity flow reactors. 

Harper owes its success to its highly technical engineering staff, an in-house Technology Center for process development work, and vast experience in a wide variety of Industries.  We regard our customer relationships as partnerships.  To these partnerships we bring a willingness and ability to address first-of-a-kind applications.  Our facility includes one of the best high temperature process development labs, broad manufacturing capability, and highly experienced dedicated employees.

Harper has extensive experience across a wide scope of industries: Electronics, Inorganic Chemicals, Ferrites, Nuclear Materials, Carbon Fiber and Graphite Fiber, Advanced Ceramics, Metal Oxides, Advanced Battery Materials, Bio Fuels, Fuel Cells, Solar Cells, Silicon Carbide and Nano-materials.

These industries continue to make advancements in their technology-developing new materials with unique processing requirements.  Harper International continues to keep pace with these developments with innovative processing system designs and complete customized manufacturing systems.

The Harper Technology Center continues to maintain its leadership position with the installation of new processing equipment.  The Technology Center offers thermodynamic analysis, kinetics study, morphology control, and thermal modeling in addition to process testing, development, and process optimization.

Harper International has supplied over 4,000 thermal processing systems worldwide and holds patents for its innovative technology.  Harper’s equipment includes rotary kilns, pusher kilns, vertical calciners, strip belt systems, mesh belt kilns, batch kilns, fluidized bed technology, and carbon fiber production systems.  Temperatures up to 2800°C and a variety of atmospheric processing requirements are available. 

Harper markets and installs its systems worldwide with installing in Europe, Asia & Latin American.  It has local manufacturing and service capability in many of these overseas locations.
